About Dr. David T. Morgan

Dr. David T. Morgan

I am the oldest of eight children, father of six, father-in-law of three, and grandfather of four. I've been married to the love of my life for more than three decades. I earned a PhD in counseling psychology from Brigham Young University in 1999 and have been working as a licensed psychologist for more than 20 years. During that time I've treated and evaluated more than ten thousand clients. I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ holds multiple keys to improving emotional and mental health. While I don't believe that the gospel is the exclusive answer to such troubles, I believe that as we incorporate such truths, in addition to the excellent mental health services the Lord has revealed, we can find greater peace.

I've written five books on gospel and mental health topics, am a regular presenter on digital firesides with Our Turtle House and Onward Productions, and am contributing author to LDS Living magazine. I love reading the scriptures and learning about the lives of those who wrote them. I currently serve as the bishopric first counselor in my ward but my favorite calling was early morning seminary, which I taught for almost five years. I enjoy indoor cycling, 80’s music, the beach, and being with family. Our family loves Disneyland and has been there many times. I probably know just about as much about the Happiest Place on Earth as I do about psychology at any given moment.
